The Featherbed Company gives visitors to the Garden Route 'an unforgettable experience on the Knysna Lagoon'. The Lagoon, more accurately defined as an estuary, has five fresh water rivers flowing in from the surrounding Outeniqua Mountains meeting with the surge of sea water from the Indian Ocean through the mighty headlands – known as the 'Knysna Heads' - the grand sandstone cliffs towering above the entrance to the Knysna Lagoon.
There are many family holiday activities to be enjoyed on and around the Knysna Lagoon. 

The Featherbed Company offers several premier Knysna tours.  Operating lagoon ferries to our private Featherbed nature reserve, a South African Natural Heritage site, situated on the Western Knysna Head.

Breathtaking views of Knysna and the Lagoon will be appreciated from the top of the Knysna Heads. 

A guided down hill hiking trail through the fynbos and along the sea shore leads you back to the Forest restaurant.

Here you can view the famous Knysna Loerie, the rare Knysna Sea horses and our Blue Duikers for which we have established a conservation Blue Duiker breeding program.
The Featherbed Company also offers various Knysna Lagoon cruises as well as Dinner cruises on three of our boats, Private charters for private parties, wedding celebrations and company conferences are all popular activities in our restaurants and aboard our boats.
